Cindy Male Art and Yoga Studios and Gallery
Cindy Male Art and Yoga Studios and Gallery promote two areas that can be used to expand creativity, develop intuition, and engage an individual in the 'higher self'. She conducts private and group classes in both. Her art work emphasizes personal environment through murals, fabric installations, framed silk and canvas paintings, and her patented 'Earth Rhythm Light Reflectors'. Her jewelry, 'The Taino Labyrinth of Change' is available through the gallery as well as other fine and crafted works of art made exclusively on St. Croix and sold exclusively at The Cindy Male Studios.
Studio Tour: $12.00 per person (does not include transportation)
Introduction to gallery space and lecture on Taino Myths and Zemis: 20-30 minutes Tour of rest of studio: Table set for visitors to stamp, stencil and use tjaunting tool. Tent up outside with books to peruse. Merchandise for purchase available.
Studio Workshop: $50 per person

Introduction to gallery space: 20 minutes
Activity: Below: 120 minutes
Break: Drinks and books to peruse: 10 minutes
Slide Presentation on Fiber Art and Artists: 30 minutes while fabric is drying
Total: 3 hours workshop
Outside tent set up with objects on tables for drawing and materials for process.
Fabric set out for transfer of object for batiking.
Use quick pigment method for adding color.
Or:
Choose a design to lay on fabric and spray pigment for resist imprint.
Or:
Using quick carving stamping material, cave your image for stamping.
Final product: 12" X 20" fabric work using fabric pigment and one of the processes or a combination of the processes listed above.
Children's Studio Workshop: $30.00

Introduction to gallery space and concept of fabric art: 15 minutes
Activity: 1 hour:
Second Activity: Drawing exercises outside under the tent.
Discuss "motif" and "pattern". Show examples. Give cloth and choice of stamps for creating final image. Stamp with pigment. Embellish.
While drying, move to tent outside for drawing exercises.
Final Product: 12" X 20" fabric work using fabric pigment and drawings from found objects.
